Do your Research

Make sure to check out why Camden is so special before your interview. Our website has a wealth of information about Camden's values, mission statement, and history. Dig into the communities you will be working at or in your city. What makes them unique and stand out? Before you interview, learn about the person you will meet with. What do they do, and how long have they worked for Camden? A little research goes a long way and will surely impress who is interviewing you!

Be Prompt and Professional

One of my golden pieces of advice is, “Being early is on time, and being on time is late.” If you will be interviewed in person, give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination. A virtual interview is convenient, but technology can be unpredictable. Ensure your wi-fi is strong and your speakers and microphone are in working order. When attending all interviews, make sure you are dressed professionally. An interview is not the place for ripped jeans or a dirty t-shirt. You want to make sure you are making a solid first impression.

Be Yourself

One of the best tips I can give you is to be yourself. Let your personality shine through in every interaction with a Camden team member. During the interview process, we will ask you about yourself and your work history. Be prepared to talk about the teams and companies you have worked with. Highlight what you have learned, what challenges you overcame, and what mentors helped you along the way and steer clear of any negative language.

Come with Questions

The interview process should not be a one-way street. We want to ensure you will be a good fit for Camden, but you need to ensure that Camden is a good fit for you. Would you like to know about our benefits package? Just ask! Need to know what your hours would be? We have that answer for you. This is a big decision, and we want to make sure all of your questions are answered.

Send your Thanks

A “Thank You” goes a long way and may set you apart from other candidates. Make sure to thank every person you interviewed and express your gratitude for their time and knowledge (if you followed my tips for coming up with questions above!). A quick email is the perfect way to do this. While handwritten letters are outstanding, snail mail may not get to our recruiter/interviewer in this fast-paced world before making a final decision on the open position.

Check our Camden careers page for the most up-to-date open positions. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the Camden family!
