To all my fellow pet owners - I know, I know - sometimes all you want to do is open your door and let your pup go potty as quickly as possible. You just got home from work, your dog needs to do their thing, and you want to get back to your apartment to start dinner as soon as possible because you are already ready to relax.
However, we all know pet life in an apartment community is not that simple. In a high-rise especially, there can be added difficulties taking your dog outside. Here are some ways to accommodate yourself and your pup while living in a high-rise in the 615 – specifically, Camden Music Row!
Pick an apartment community with easily accessible grassy areas so that when you do exit the building with your pup, the potty spot isn’t far!
Find the Easily Accessible Grassy Areas Around Your Building

In a big city, sometimes the grass is few and far between, but not at Camden Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee! Nashville is growing immensely, with buildings popping up daily, so we love having so much greenery around us. Behind our building is our courtyard. This is the most accessible grassy area in our community. You can take the elevator down to our 2nd floor and exit through the courtyard door to get there quickly.
Additionally, there are two public parks less than a two-minute walk from our building with loads of grass, walking trails, and benches for you to take a load off while your dog runs free.
Dogs need elevator etiquette, too
Do elevator rides ever make you anxious? If so, imagine your pup! If they have never lived in a high-rise, the elevator can be intimidating as the doors close and they swiftly move up or down.
Follow these tips to make the ride super smooth:
- Make sure your dog is used to being around other pups so that they can enjoy the ride!
- At Camden Music Row, thankfully, we have three different elevators to accommodate everyone, but sometimes, you can end up riding the elevator with other dogs.
- Bring treats! Who doesn’t love a reward or an incentive for good behavior?
Accidents happen, but preparation prevents them
Sometimes, things happen, and we totally understand! However, to prevent unexpected pees and poos, take your dog out frequently! Consider a dog walker to take your dog out during the day so you do not have to scramble outside when you get home. If you work from home, utilize those breaks to get your pup outside. At Camden Music Row, a concierge is available 24/7, so if an accident happens, stop by for cleaning supplies.

Everyone wants to smell fresh – even your dog! At Camden Music Row, there is a 24/7 paw spa. Day and night, you can freshen up the fur of your pup. The paw spa has a massive tub to get your scrub on and a small waiting area surrounding it, so if your pup is not a fan of bath time, they can’t get too far! It can be accessed directly from outside, so those muddy paws don’t have to traipse too far.
