One of the best parts of October is curling up on the couch with a blanket, turning the lights down low, having your popcorn and candy on hand, and watching a Halloween movie. But do you ever waste most of your movie-watching time thinking ‘which movie should I pick tonight?!’
The key is to have your top Halloween movies planned out, and ready to go! Here, I'm sharing a fun, time-saving game that my husband and I do during the spooky season. The only things you will need are a notepad and a pen!
We both write down three Halloween movies that we would like to watch. This year, my husband chose Clue, House on Haunted Hill, and The Conjuring. My choices were Hocus Pocus II, Scooby-Doo Ghoul School, and It’s a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. You can see we have very different tastes in Halloween movies!
We write out all six movies on a notepad and numbered them one through six. Then we tore up six pieces of paper, numbered one through six, and put them in a small plastic bag.
Watch in the comfort of your home, or take advantage of the movie room at Camden Buckingham
Each Sunday, when we are settled in the living room with our snacks and blankets, one of us will pick a numbered piece of paper from the plastic bag and the other will read from the list. If one of us picks a movie that we really do not want to watch, we are both allowed to return the slip of paper back to the bag, and pick again, but only once!
This is fun for gatherings with roommates, family members, and couples. If you really want to make it unique you can make themed movie night snacks in your Camden kitchen! Maybe mini pumpkin pies to snack on while watching It’s a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Or a fruit roll-up “face mask” to eat during Hocus Pocus II!
With great snacks, movies, and loved ones, how could you go wrong? The best part is, so many of our Camden communities offer a technology package which is included in your total monthly rent! Many communities offer both cable and internet to their residents, making it fast and convenient to find your top Halloween picks for this year. Which movies will make your top list?
