Summer is here in Charlotte! We’re all attuned to the magnificence of summertime in the Queen City. Warm mornings give way to scorching afternoons, seasonal storms with lightning galore, and floral pastels on every corner. It’s an unbeatable place to be.
Even amidst the heat, there’s never a drought in fun to be had, but let’s gander at some of what to look forward to as the nights grow longer! Every Saturday, I enjoy glossing over the local happenings of our region. There’s always a new festival or event popping up weekly. Charlotte has tons of great resources that can be found online, too.
Need something to do? You’ve come to the right place! Maybe you missed Lovin’ Life Music Festival in Uptown, but if music, food, and the outdoors are your thing, there’s much more coming!
Summer Festivals in Charlotte
RiverFest is coming soon on July 20, supporting the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation with their annual day by the river in Belmont, NC. They’ll have food trucks, live music, kayaking, local craft beer, and more for the whole family!
The Foodies in our city certainly never miss out either. Local to our SouthPark communities, Camden Foxcroft and Camden Fairview, we await the 5th Annual Charlotte Peruvian Festival on July 28 at Symphony Park. This rocking gathering highlights Peruvian culture through delectable cuisines, artisan crafts, dancing, and live entertainment. I had the chance to grab a bite during last year’s Peruvian festival and of course I will be a repeat customer!

Charlotte Pride week runs from August 9-16, with Pride Fest happening August 17 & 18, and the parade occurring August 18 on Tryon Street, just down the road from Camden Cotton Mills! Charlotte Pride Week was a hit last year. From the music to the food, the fun, and the energy, this week always brings the city to life.
Live Music and More in the Queen City
Don’t forget to look up your favorite artist’s tour schedules. Charlotte is always popping off with new concerts, comedians, and performances at one of our theatre venues, and anything that isn’t stopping here can typically be enjoyed in Raleigh or Asheville!
Camp North End also hosts weekly outdoor movie nights all summer on Thursdays, free to the public and right around the corner from Camden NoDa! Just bring your friends and a chair to enjoy some retro films and arcade games.
Be sure to hit up a food hall during your travels too. Optimist Hall is no secret, but a true gem. Can’t forget Trolley Barn or Urban District Market either to get a taste of our city. Our Camden Bloggers have another wonderfully informative article covering where to find some awesome food here in Charlotte, be sure to check it out!
