Maximize Your Workout: Essential Gym Etiquette Tips

Our fitness centers and gyms at Camden are equipped with everything you need for a great workout. From free weights, cardio machines and yoga balls, we are ready for you to burn those calories and gain some muscles. Before you get your sweat on, here are some essential gym etiquette tips to help you and others have a great workout experience:

Be Mindful of Others With many people working on their fitness goals, the gym can get crowded during busy times. Be mindful of others waiting to use the equipment and offer to let them work a set while you are resting. Avoid having long phone conversations while at the gym. If you need to take a call, step outside.

Keep the Volume Down We all love to rock out to our favorite jams when we hit the weights or run on the treadmill. Or maybe a podcast is your thing. Whatever you choose to listen to, make sure to have those headphones on. The person next to you on that Stairmaster will thank you!

Wipe it Down Working up a good sweat in the gym is fantastic. What is not…..leaving that puddle of perspiration on the equipment. All of Camden’s fitness centers are equipped with disinfecting wipes or spray that you can use to ensure all machines, weights, and mats are wiped down. Also, don’t forget to bring a towel to wipe that wet brow down.

Be Respectful Keeping the gym, a safe and comfortable place should be a priority for those who use it. That starts with respect for others and the equipment itself. When using the machines, don’t slam the weight stack down on every rep, and make sure not to drop the free weights and bars on the ground after a heavy set. After using the weights, please put them back in their designated spots to keep the gym organized and safe.
