Sports, parks, rivers, lakes, and an endless supply of live music: what more could you ask for in summertime? You will find it all in Nashville, Tennessee. Let’s dive into a Music City summer.

Nashville Sounds

Take yourself out to a ballgame at First Horizon Park! The ballpark is home to the Nashville Sounds Baseball Club. With game days from March to September, you can spend summer and beyond enjoying an American classic. The concourse at First Horizon Park surrounds the entire stadium and provides amazing views from any spot. My favorite part is the guitar shaped scoreboard; it’s worth a visit just to see this distinctive piece.

Concerts

You can’t forget the concerts when talking about Music City. Popular venues such as Bridgestone Arena, Nissan Stadium, and The Ryman Auditorium put on shows all summer long, but my personal favorite music venue for summertime is Ascend Amphitheater. It is open-aired and settled along the Cumberland River, so you can enjoy stunning water and city views. The vibes are up to you, with the ability to opt for open seating on the lawn or a reserved spot close to the stage. For more casual vibes and constant live music, head over to Music Row, where you can find Live Oak and Tin Roof directly across from Camden Music Row.

Outdoor Activities

The outdoor opportunities are endless in Nashville, and all the classic activities are at your fingertips. Running, walking, biking, hiking, swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing, sightseeing, and golfing: you can do it all and more.

There are multiple waterways for aquatic activities, including the Cumberland River that runs through downtown and Percy Priest, Nashville’s largest lake. Nashville’s central park, Centennial Park, provides the perfect picnicking place around the Parthenon if you are not up to physical activity. Dive deep into the outdoors at Edwin or Percy Warner Park. Together, they are referred to as The Warner's and bring beautiful trails and paved roadways to Nashville. Want to work on your swing? Percy Warner Golf Club is now open after a long closure for renovations.

No matter what activity you choose, the outdoors can be thoroughly enjoyed in Nashville, Tennessee.

At Your Camden Community

If you feel like avoiding the Nashville crowds, your Camden Community is the place to be. At Camden Music Row, you can lounge by the pool day into night: the 9th floor rooftop provides a spectacular view of Music City high in the sky. I recommend having a few friends over to grill out, heading inside to watch a movie in the lounge, and then ending the night enjoying the skyline while floating around the pool.

If Camden Franklin Park is your community of choice, don’t fear! Franklin, Tennessee is just 20 minutes from downtown Nashville and is all in on the summer fun. You will find walking trails and endless green space around Camden Franklin Park.

The community provides a resort-style saltwater pool with loungers, and the sundeck gets some of the best sun rays I have ever seen.

Shopping, eating and sightseeing your way through nearby Historic Downtown Franklin is always an option – one of the best! I highly recommend grabbing a tea cake and a fruit tea from Merridee’s Breadbasket if you go during the daytime or a martini from Gray’s on Main during the evening.

While Franklin is technically separate from Music City, the musicality of Nashville has spread. A Franklin favorite is Kimbro’s Pickin' Parlor for live music with a back porch vibe!

No matter where you live in Middle Tennessee, you are never far from fun. Summertime in Music City has endless options between the Nashville Sounds, the amenities at your Camden community, concerts, a multitude of lakes, rivers, parks, etc., and more. I hope you get sun-kissed if you wish, but either way, I hope you sit back, relax, and enjoy your Music City summer.
